Methodist Health System Leaders Named to National List of ‘Hospital Leaders to Know’
A trio of top leaders from Methodist Health System have been honored in the national list, "Hospital and Healthcare System Leaders to Know," by Becker's Hospital Review magazine.
The Chicago-based publication has announced inclusion of Methodist Health System President and CEO, Stephen L. Mansfield, PhD, FACHE, among its "291 Hospital and Health System Leaders to Know." Methodist's Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer Pamela J. Stoyanoff and Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Pamela G. McNutt have also been honored as among the magazine's "56 Women Hospital & Health care Leaders to Know." Both lists recognize individuals leading prominent American health care organizations.
Selection takes into consideration impressive accomplishments, extensive experience, and in-depth knowledge of the health care industry. Armed with these strengths, these men and women continue to guide their respective organizations through change and innovation, explain Becker's leaders in announcing the lists. Leaders nationwide were selected for inclusion on this list based on nominations, and a wide range of critical management and leadership skills, including oversight of hospital or health system operations, financial turnarounds and quality improvement initiatives, inclusion in previous Becker's Hospital Review lists, and research conducted by the Becker's editorial team.
"I am humbled and honored by my own inclusion in the Becker's list of national health care organization leaders. It is also an outstanding recognition of our health system and the thousands of dedicated and compassionate caregivers that daily serve our community's medical needs," says Dr. Mansfield. "Additionally, I am extremely proud that two of our top administrators are among these 56 women across the national selected for richly deserved leadership recognition. Pam Stoyanoff and Pam McNutt both demonstrate outstanding leadership within our hospitals and the health care industry."
Stoyanoff took her first step into health care as controller/compliance officer of Provena Health in Waukegan, Ill., from 1985 to 2000. Since then, she also served in executive health care positions at Vista Health, also in Waukegan, and St. Vincent Health System based in Little Rock, Ark. Stoyanoff has broad experience in diverse markets and is a strong advocate for patient, employee, and physician satisfaction, with responsibility for operations of the four-hospital Methodist Health System and corporate support structure.
"Being included in this selected group of women leading health care organizations around the country is a tremendous honor for which I feel a deep debt of gratitude. It is indeed both exhilarating and humbling to be recognized in this way – and a key part is due to the dedicated team of talented individuals with whom I work," says Stoyanoff.
McNutt has served in the CIO role at Methodist for nearly 20 years. In 2001, she led a five-year technology replacement plan focused on standardizing clinical and billing information practices across the health system. She has also served on the national board of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives and as director of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society national board.
"It is my long-time privilege to serve the community of North Texas through Methodist Health System and to be a part of its continuing growth and expansion of services. I deeply appreciate this recognition of the contributions we have made to the health care industry," says McNutt.
