Fort Worth Health Care Heroes
Methodist Mansfield Medical Center’s Karla Ramberger and David Dyslin, MD Chosen as Fort Worth Health Care Heroes
Mansfield, Texas —Karla Ramberger, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center’s Emergency Department director, and David Dyslin, an independently practicing general surgeon on the Methodist Mansfield medical staff and the hospital’s first medical staff president, were recently chosen as Fort Worth Business Press Health Care Heroes. They were among 16 health care professionals in Tarrant County chosen for their excellence in the medical community, quality of service, and demonstration of exceptional commitment to the health and well-being of local residents.
Ms. Ramberger is a 16-year veteran of the health care industry. She spearheaded the hospital’s effort to obtain national accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers as a Cycle III Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and helped redesign the Emergency Department to improve its functionality and make it comfortable for patients. She has also been instrumental in reducing national response times for treating heart attack victims, beginning with first emergency responders in the field to refining hospital processes. She is committed to making the hospital a place where employees enjoy working and where patients receive quality care.
Dr. Dyslin was the first president of the medical staff and helped create the backbone for the medical staff structure and set the standard for the quality medical care that is provided to patients. Specializing in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, he enjoys using leading edge technology to improve his patients’ health and to assist in a rapid return to a better quality of life. He has participated in numerous medical mission trips helping improve the quality of life for those less fortunate. An active member of the Texas Medical Association, he serves as vice chairman of TEXPAC and helped pass tort reform to cap certain damages levied in medical malpractice cases.
“Dr. Dyslin and Ms. Ramberger are both known for their leadership, clinical excellence, and compassion for leading staff and serving others,” says Methodist Mansfield President Laura Irvine. “They are dedicated to our community and are well deserving of this honor.”
