Methodist Health System Named Among Best Places to Work in North Texas
For the eighth consecutive year, Methodist Health System has been named among the Best Places to Work in North Texas through an employee survey conducted by the Dallas Business Journal. Winning honorees and specific rankings among the finalists will be announced on Thursday, Sept. 22, during a gala awards luncheon in Dallas and will be featured in a special edition of the publication at that time.
“Methodist is once again honored to be selected among the Top Best Places to Work in the Dallas/Fort Worth area,” says Methodist Health System President and CEO Stephen L. Mansfield, PhD, FACHE. “This recognition for workplace excellence is a proud accomplishment for our employee family. It reflects our mission to not only serve our patients and their families, but to create and maintain a work environment that serves our family of employees.”
Methodist employees voted their workplace as a 2011 Best Places to Work site through surveys conducted by the Journal in the regional employer recognition program. Participation is open to companies across Dallas, Collin, Tarrant, Denton, and immediately adjacent counties.
“We firmly believe that every day and every year, Methodist is a great place to work and also a great place to serve,” says Dr. Mansfield.
Selection is based on employee responses to surveys and hundreds of Methodist Health System employees voted in the competition by completing an extensive online survey. Surveys reflect topics such as work environment, innovations and new ideas, people practices, personal growth and development, leadership in the organization, employee recognition, and how things work day to day. Competition is divided into three different categories: small businesses (1-99 North Texas employees); mid-sized businesses (100-499 local employees); and large businesses (500 or more local employees).
To earn the prestigious designation, companies must meet or exceed a national best practice score for their category, as determined by an independent research company performing more than 5,000 company surveys across the country each year.
In recent years, Methodist has also earned a place as a top employer in the Dallas Top Workplaces 2009 recognitions by The Dallas Morning News, and in nationally recognized top worksites by Modern Healthcare magazine.
