Methodist Staff Recognized Among DFW Great Nurses

Ten Methodist Health System nurses, more than any other previous year, have captured the prestigious Dallas-Fort Worth Great 100 Nurses award from more than 700 nominated nurses. The award honors 100 registered nurses who made a significant impact on the nursing profession and for patients, peers and the community at large.

This year, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center honorees include Jennifer Crum, RN; Lynette Cummins, RN; Camri Dishman, RN; Carol Ann Hague, RN; Katie Mosteller, RN; Tonya Pena, RN; Cristina Saldivar, RN; and Vicki Wiseman, RN, RNC-O; along with Methodist Dallas Medical Center honoree Althea Aubrey, RN, BSN; and Methodist Charlton Medical Center honoree Lisa Powell, RN. Recognized by the nominating committee, they will attend a gala held in their honor on April 27 at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.

“All of these extraordinary nurses are role models for Methodist and are admired for their leadership and clinical expertise,” said Jackie Middleton, vice president, HR Operations. “Their compassion and dedication to serve and care for others makes a difference in so many people’s lives.”

The Great 100 Nurses award has been one of the most prestigious recognitions given to registered nurses in the North Texas area for the past 20 years. Started by Beth Mancini, PhD, RN, CNA, FAAN, who saw a need for Dallas nurses to come together and recognize each other for their heroism and talents, and sponsored by the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex and the Texas Nursing Association, the Great 100 Nurses program is now one of the must-attend events of the year and one of the highest awards given to local nurses.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the Great 100 Nurses program is that nurses are nominated by physicians, patients, nurses, administrators and staff. This award is easily the most comprehensive and inclusive of its kind, and the highlight of any nurse's career.
